DRAINED (We Can Never Be A-part) (2008)
Sculpture Square and various sites, Singapore

Extended and developed over a year, DRAINED is iterated in three forms – firstly a performance, a video, followed by an installation.

The 5-minute performance video embarks on a metaphorical journey that explores the act of "washing". This act symbolises the creation of an intimate and contemplative distance between the one doing the washing (the thinker) and the book itself, which serves as a representation of thoughts and ideas. This exploration unfolds with imagination and empathy, allowing us to contemplate the paradox at its core. The physical remnants encourages one to reconsider the intricate relationship between form and content.
